There’s No Such Things As

“BUSINESS” ETHICS

HF 5387 M393 2003

Chapter 5

“If a man can accept a situation in a place of power with the thought that it’s only temporary, he comes out all right. But when he thinks he is the cause of the power, that can be his ruination.” – Harry Truman

I think this quote is saying that when a man is full of pride, his success will be limited. But if a man has a pure heart, he can have unlimited possibilities in life that will bring him success. Power is like a mighty river. As long as it keeps its course, it is a useful thing of beauty. But when it floods its banks, it brings great destruction. Anyone who realizes that he’s guarding his power too much had better start examining himself for breaches of ethics. Power can be terribly seductive.

Chapter 6

“Money doesn’t change men, it merely unmasks them. If a man is naturally selfish or arrogant or greedy, the money brings that out, that is all.” – Henry Ford

Money is a terrible master but an excellent servant. So if we can maintain the right attitude about money, then it will always be a positive, helpful tool, not a destructive one. It’s been said that we make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give. Giving not only helps others and frees us, it also puts money into perspective better than anything else we can do.

Chapter 7

“Forgiving is not an occasional act; it is a permanent attitude.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Forgiving is an act of being a human. It is a Golden Rule that must be followed. According to Martin Luther King Jr. it would be better if the whole world will strive more to be better than they are treated. If God can forgive so do us. Showing kindness to people who treats you well is little more than common courtesy.  Forgiving makes us good people and good children of God.
